How to get a strong forecast of today’s weather in the Los Angeles area

A strong, early-morning shower or thunderstorm could be a precursor to a thunderstorm or a tornado, forecasters said Sunday.

Forecasters with the National Weather Service say a shower or twister is the most likely scenario for the Los Angels area and predicted up to a 2-inch hail storm.

The Los Angeles Fire Department said it will be opening the front gate to the city on Monday for residents who want to evacuate.

If they can’t make it to the airport, the city will have limited water supplies and will likely not have power for up to two hours.

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti has asked his cabinet members to prepare for the worst.

He said it’s important for people to keep their homes and businesses shut down, but it’s also important to take precautions.

The first big storm is expected to hit the Los Angles, California, area late Monday morning.
